Aristillus and Autolychus in the middle of the picture on the eastern edge of  Mare Imbrium with the Caucasus mountains to the east and the Appenines to their south.  Interesting old crater Cassini to the north below the Alpes.  Aristoteles and Eudoxus to the west with Hercules and Atlas further east.  Mare Serenitatis in south west with Posidonius on eastern edge

endym2.jpg (37643 bytes) Mare Serenitatis with the crater Posidonius to the NE of the sea.  Ray crossing it from the crater Menelaus on the southern edge.  Again, Hercules and Atlas showing under the huge crater of Endymion caught on the terminator. Coming down the terminator Messala, Geminus, then Burckhardt leading to Cleomedes just to the north of the Mare Crisium.  More of the latter three craters can be seen on the next photo.
Coming further south but still with a terminator shadow the Mare Crisium shows more fully with the bright rays of the small crater Proclus showing clearly in the evening sunshine.
Fuller view of Crisium with the northern part of Mare Fecunditatis in the morning sunlight.
Mare Marginis to the east of Crisium
Close up of Crisium rim

Mare Tranquillitatis Mare Serenitatis

Apollo 11 landing place
Mare Crisium - Sea of Crises - multi-ringed basin about 400 km long. Prominent wrinkle ridges
Rays from Proclus very clear to south and NW.  Grey area - Palus Somnii - cuts them off to west Crisium - unwarped!

Shows Crisium more as it is - circular - try the clever PlanetWarp program  - you can do better, much better!
