Lunation 1018 - April/May 2005

April 24th 2005 - 15 day 8 hr

So low, and poor seeing ... Moon creeping over the garage roof ...  You may well ask!!  See Low Moons

April 23rd 2005 - 14 day 4hr

One minute it's there ...  approx 21:45 BST  And then it's off into the clouds - leaving Jupiter still clear

April 22nd 2005 - 13 day moon

Oh those clouds - no let up all evening

April 21st 2005 - 12 day Moon

Babbage crater Moon and Jupiter with chimney

April 18th 2005 - 9 day Moon

8 pm BST - just before the clouds came back

April 14th, 2005 5-day Moon

NE craters - Posidonius, Franklin, 

Cepheus, Burg, Atlas, Hercules  Mare Crisium + Fecunditatis

 

Mare Nectar + Fecunditatis Theophilus, Cyrillus, and Catharina Rays from Proclus Montes Pyrenaeus

5 day Moon - used 20mm (x40)     + x3 Barlow.  Camera zoomed x3

Seeing medium, plane trails kept drifting over 

Cloud started to arrive around 9.30 pm BST.  Moon disappeared over the roof by 10pm.

Moon clearer as it grew darker but seeing remained shimmery. 

 Pitiscus, Hommel, Vlacq in the South  Janssen and Rheita Valley Round Macrobius and Proclus

3 day moon, no zoom, cloudy haze 12-04-05 4 day moon, zoom+tripod, 13-04-05
